BJD leader injured in robbery attack

Bhubaneswar: In yet another case of highway robbery, BJD leader K Simadri was injured in an attack by robbers on Khurdha – Balugaon national highway last night.

According to the sources, the BJD leader accompanied by few of his friends was on the way to Rayagada from Bhubaneswar when some armed robbers attacked his car. As a result he was hit by the bullet in his neck.

The robbers later fled away with the leader’s car, added sources.
Simadri, who was first admitted to Capital hospital in critical situation, was later shifted to a private hospital.

However, ST & SC Development minister and Rayagada MLA Lal Behari Himirika visited the injured leader.

Meanwhile, Khurdha police began the investigation.

Few days ago, a group of robbers had looted a truck after killing the driver on Khurdha – Balugaon national highway.
