Cuttack: The Commissionerate police on Thursday claimed that they have arrested two gunrunners, including a minor boy from Bihar from the Chahata area of the city.

The city police claimed that the gunrunners from neighbouring Bihar and Jharkhand areas were supplying huge cache of illegal arms and ammunition in Odisha.

 
Speaking to newsmen here the police commissioner R K Sharma said a team of city police getting a tipoff, raided a hideout under the Bidanasi police station and arrested the Bihar youth along with another boy and seized three pistols and six live bullets from their possession.

Sharma said the Bihar youth was trying to sell the arms and ammunition to prospective buyers in the city and each pistol and two bullets were up for sell at a cost ranging from Rs 37,000 to Rs 45,000.

Investigations in the case are on, police said, adding that arrests of more persons in the case cannot be ruled out.
