Bhubaneswar/Keonjhar: Keonjhar district Truck Owners’ Association has called for a 12 hour bandh in the district today protesting against the stoppage of iron ore transportation by trucks. The associations in Joda and Barbil have also supported their call.

Members of the association said that for the past nine months, the iron ore was transported through rail wagons instead of trucks, affecting their business. Four months ago, all the three associations had jointly called for a rail roko protesting against the move, following which the district administration assured to take a favourable step for the associations. Unhappy over the delay in action, the association on April 16 had gheraoed DDM office in Keonjhar.
