Bhubaneswar: The state assembly today unanimously adopted a resolution to release abducted Laxmipur MLA Jhina Hikaka held hostage by the Maoists since March 23. Members cutting across party lines today adopted the resolution introduced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The house however expressed concern over the abduction of the tribal legislator as no headway has been made to free the BJD MLA held hostage by the abductors for the last 12 days.

Meanwhile, the adviser of the Maoist-backed Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh(CMAS)  Gananath Patra has expressed his willingness to take part in the proposed dialogue with the government to facilitate the release of Jhina Hikaka. Talking to media persons outside the Jeypore court in Koraput district where he was produced in a case Gananath however said that he smelt that there was some sort of conspiracy by the government in its invitation to CMAS President Nachika Linga to take part in the talks to free the kidnapped MLA Jhina Hikaka.
