Jagatsinghpur: The intermittent rains for last five days have cost dear for a family as four of its member including two minor children were killed after rain-soaked wall collapsed last night at around 2 am here at ward no 10 of the municipality area.
The deceased have been identified as Mitu Das (35), wife Sujata (28) and a six-month old son Nan, three-year old daughter Gudul
The shocking incident took place when the couple with the children was asleep last night. The wall of their house, which became weak due to incessant rain, caved in killing all the members on the spot. Neighbors recovered the bodies under the debris in the morning.
Financial assistance will be provided to the kin of the deceased to perform funeral rites, official sources said.
