Youth Nabbed While Stealing Transformer In Cuttack Village

Cuttack: A group of locals of Parsuram village under Mahanga police limits in Cuttack district managed to nab a youth while he was attempting to steal a transformer from the village late last night.

According to sources, two persons allegedly members of a transformer theft gang had come to steal a transformer in Salepur area when they were caught by alert villagers.

Foiling the loot attempt, the villagers nabbed one of them and handed him over to police. An investigation is currently underway to trace the other accused who fled the scene.

Meanwhile, in another incident, the Commissionerate Police has busted a bike-lifting racket by arresting five members of the gang. As per reports, Badambadi Police recovered 22 stolen motorcycles which were lifted by the criminal gang from different parts of the city.
