Youth drowns while taking selfie in Raygada

Rayagada: A youth drowned in Nagavali River in Rayagada after he slipped off the hanging bridge on the river while taking a selfie today.

The deceased has been identified as T. Gangaraju, a resident of Kotabalsar in Andhra Pradesh. His body was recovered by fire brigade personnel from the river.

Gangaraju along with his 13 friends had come to Rayagada to visit Majhighariani Temple.

"On getting information we immediately reached the spot. After a search operation, we found the body floating nearly half a kilometer away from the bridge" informed Pitambar Sahu, a Fire Services department official.

Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the incident.
