Dhenkanal: Three siblings including a girl were rescued by police from a bush in Dhenkanal town late on Wednesday night.

As per reports, the residents of an apartment building at Dakshina Kali Road in the city spotted three teenagers lying under a bush and called the police. After getting information, a team of night patrol reached the spot and rescued the children.

Upon questioning, the children who revealed themselves as residents of a nearby slum alleged that their father, Kuli Naik is a drunkard and beats them every night. However, frustrated by the daily abuse, this time the children decided to leave home for good.

The elder one, a boy who could not stop the tears rolling down his cheeks said, "My father beats us every day after tying our legs. He wanted us to leave the house and threatened that if we go back he will torture us more. We have been living on the roadside and surviving by begging."

The teenage girl sought help from the police in rescuing one of their sisters, who is still with her father.

"I have a younger sister too who gets the beating like us every day. She is with my father right now, helpless."

The police provided the kids with clean clothes before launching a probe into the matter.
