Paradip: Three persons were killed after being hit by a truck near Kujanga, about 20 km from here in Jagatsinghpur district, police said today.

The mishap took place on Cuttack-Paradip road when the three victims, aged around 22 years, were crossing the road after making purchases from a shop on Wednesday night.

Tension prevailed in the area after the accident as local residents staged a demonstration and blocked the Cuttack-Paradip road demanding adequate compensation to the families of the deceased and immediate steps to ensure road safety.
