Bhubaneswar: Though the top three parties have announced the majority of candidates for the oncoming General Elections, the few tens of seats, for which names of candidates are still to be announced, have kept the hopefuls on toes.

Even as the BJD had already declared its fifth list of candidates for Lok Sabha and Assembly seats, discussion is in progress among the tops leaders at party supreme Naveen Patnaik’s residence to finalise candidates for remaining 17 seats.

The final list likely to be declared today for which party chief continues to discuss with the observers and top leaders. The crowd of the hopefuls and sitting MLAs of these 17 constituencies are witnessed at Naveen Niwas.

Naveen on Saturday announced party’s fifth list of candidates for 19 assembly and four Lok Sabha constituencies in which eight sitting MLAs including former Finance Minister Prafulla Chandra Ghadai and two sitting MPs-Mohan Jena (Jajpur) & Jasawant Laguri (Keonjhar)- were denied tickets.

Similarly, BJP is yet to declare candidates for 6 Lok Sabha and 42 Assembly seats while Congress has remaining candidates for lone Kendrapara LS and 25 Assembly constituencies to be declared.
