Sudarsan creates sand calendar on new year eve

Bhubaneswar: On the eve of New Year renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik on Thursday created a sand sculpture of a huge calendar with message “Year of Love & Peace” at Puri beach.

Sudarsan has created 25ft high sand calendar by using about 500 tons of sand with some colour sand. He took 8 hours to complete this sculpture. Students of his sand art institute joined hands with him.

"I wish all the people in this World to start their new year with love and peace," said Sudarsan.

He has also created a sand sculpture of Lord Jagannath.

So far the Padma Sri awardee has participated in more than 50 international sand art championships and festivals around the World and won many prizes for the country.
