Odisha jumps to fifth place in India Today survey

Bhubaneswar: The State of States Survey conducted by the renowned news magazine India Today has put Odisha as the fifth best state in the country for the year 2015.

The magazine, which has been conducting the survey since last 12 years, makes a gradation of states taking the performance in sectors like agriculture, education, administration, health, infrastructure, investment, sanitation and environment.

On the basis of its performance in the aforesaid sectors, Odisha, which was in the 16th place last year, has jumped to fifth place this year.

The survey was conducted by collecting statistics from government and non-government agencies.

Apart from Odisha, Sikkim, which was in the eighth place last year, has topped the list while Assam has jumped to seventh position from the 19th position last year.
