PM Targets BJD Over Missing Ratna Bhandar Keys

“Odisha has a deep connection with Akshay Tritiya as the construction work for Puri Rath Yatra chariots starts from this auspicious day. Seven decades back, rules were framed and one rule was there to maintain the records of property, and treasure of Lord Jagannath in Ratna Bhandar. The last inventory was taken some 45 years back. All the ornaments and jewels were so much in quantity that evaluators could not complete the counting. Now the Ratna Bhandar has not been opened for the last 40 years,” said PM Modi.

However, the keys of Ratna Bhandar have been missing for the last six years. People have the rights to know what happened to the keys; who took the keys and what do they did with them, questioned PM Modi in his Kandhamal address.

PM Modi alleged that the Odisha government says that duplicate keys of Ratna Bhandar have been found. Why were duplicate keys made? Is the Ratna Bhandar opened during the night using duplicate keys? Are the ornaments of the Lord stolen? These are serious issues. The government set up a Commission but its report has not been made public. The BJP has been racking up the issue that why is the Naveen Patnaik government running away from this and what compulsion do they have? Whose sin is it that the BJD is hiding or protecting? Modi asked.

PM Modi assured the people of Odisha that once the BJP government comes to power here, the transparency of Ratna Bhandar will be restored and it is 'Modi Ki Guarantee'.
