According to officials, the zebra was suffering from rheumatic fever since last four years and was undergoing medical treatment. But its health condition was deteriorating day by day.
Notably, as many as seven zebras including a male zebra died in last four years. The mammal, which was brought from Chhatbir zoo near Chandigarh as part of an exchange programme in March 2012, died after it suffered serious injuries while mating with its partner.
