Eminent litterateur Girija Bhusan Patnaik passes away

Cuttack: Renowned social activist and eminent litterateur Girija Bhusan Patnaik passed away at his residence located at Kalabikash Kendra Marg here on the wee hours of Sunday.

He was 85 and was ill for a long time.

Since his student carrier he was involved in social works and actively participated in freedom fight in 1942. He started his carrier as an advocate in 1958.

He has authored many books like Buddhism and Jainism, Folk Culture, Environment and twenty-first Century, Gandhi and Modern Time, Jibana Janapatahare, Baunu Bazaar tepana Gali and has left his mark on literature.

His last rites are likely to be performed today.
