Bhubaneswar: Action against errant beneficiaries under the discretionary allotment of plots and houses in the State is picking up steam. After the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (CDA) slapped show-cause notices to fifty such errant beneficiaries, the Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) is also planning to send out notices seeking clarifications in allotments where irregularities have been observed.

Similarly, the housing board has also initiated action against the beneficiaries who have availed multiple plots or houses under the discretionary quota.

Earlier on June 9, acting on the State Cabinet’s decision based on the recommendation of the Taradutt Task Force Committee on Allotment of Plots and Flats under Discretionary Quota, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) served notices to more than 50 single allotment beneficiaries.

On the other hand vigilance probe will soon begin into the multiple allotment scam. The CDA has already submitted 167 files for inquiry and will be sending 50 more to the probe agency. The housing board has also transferred 29 files to Vigilance.

According to the Vigilance department, 90 percent files have been received by the agency and the rest is expected to be received by June 20.
