One dead, three injured due to lightning

Lightning struck Debendra Das (26) when he was at his house in Gabagaon village under Chandipur police station. His mother sustained serious injury due to the lightning, police said. Two persons were injured at nearby Kaaphala and Jankhrai villages, they said.

Meanwhile, normal life was paralysed as a strong gale accompanied by lightning and rain lashed many parts of the district. Power supply in the town remained disrupted as huge trees fell on electric poles and transmission lines.
