Bhubaneswar: Cutting across party lines, members of the Odisha Assembly today condemned Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his reported statement that Kashmir is a flash point which "can trigger a fourth war" with India.

The MLAs, belonging to the ruling BJD and Congress, favoured a censure motion against the Pakistan Prime Minister for his "dreams" of a "fourth war" against India.

"We want passing of an all-party resolution condemning the Pakistan Prime Minister's statement. Everybody should appreciate Indian Prime Minister's prompt reply. We all should strengthen the hands of the Prime Minister on the issue," senior Congress member Santosh Singh Saluja, who raised the issue during the zero hour, said.

Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh said India had given a befitting reply to Pakistan earlier and would never hesitate to repeat it in future.

"It is good for the country to pass a resolution condemning Pakistan Prime Minister," Singh said.

Dubbing Monmohan Singh as a "weak PM", BJP supported Independent MLA Pratap Sarangi and said Pakisthan must be taught a lesson for its Prime Minister's attitude.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kalpataru Das said the leader of the house (CM), leader of Opposition and Speaker of the Assembly should decide whether a censure motion should be brought against the Pakistan Prime Minister.

"I personally condemn the Pak PM's statement," Das said.
