Bhubaneswar: Unfazed by the demand for his arrest by the supporters of BJD minister Sanjay Dasburma, senior Congress leader Lalatendu Bidyadhar (Lulu) Mahapatra on Saturday said the earlier charges he had brought against his arch rival was a tip of the iceberg.

“I will come up with concrete evidences to show how the property of a person has gone up by over thousand times within a span of 11.12 years,” Mahapatra told media persons here.

He said there have been massive irregularities in three flagship programmes of the state government viz. the Mid-day Meal, Annapurna and Antyodaya.

“Under these three programmes, 7-8 kgs of rice are withdrawn from each bag with the knowledge of the BJD minister. Everybody knows where the money goes,” he added.

Referring to the 12-hour bandh call given by his supporters in Krushnaprasad Block in Puri district today demanding arrest of Dasburma for his alleged links with scam-tainted chit fund company Artha Tatwa (AT), irregularities in ration card distribution and Phailin assistance, Mahapatra said the bandh was spontaneous.

“I have neither gone to Krushnaprasad and nor organised the bandh,” he claimed.

While Dasburma refused to give his comment on this, his party colleague and spokesperson Pratap Jena said accusations and allegations have no meaning. “Let the Congress leader prove the charges he has brought against the minister. He should also know that through demonstrations and agitations no action can be taken against any person unless the allegations brought against him is proved,” he pointed out.
