Former Jajpur MLA Bobby Das hints at political comeback in Korei

PUBLISHED: LAST UPDATE:

Former Jajpur MLA Pranab Prakash aka Bobby Das, has sparked political buzz with signs of a comeback in Korei. At a recent community event, he reignited connections with locals, emphasising service over power and drawing an emotional parallel to his bond with both constituencies. While BJP’s Akash Dasnayak criticised his intentions, Bobby’s consistent public presence hints at a larger political strategy.

In a move widely seen as a political resurgence, BJD’s so-called strongman and former Jajpur MLA Pranab Prakash aka Bobby Das began a strategic outreach to reclaim his presence in Korei Assembly constituency, on Sunday.

Once a well-known figure in the district, Bobby is now actively rebuilding his connection with the people, hinting at future political ambitions. There is also discussion that Pranab has started initiating a new move from here.

Speaking at a community gathering organised by Ashok Das Foundation at a Kalyan Mandap in Sathipur, Bobby declared, “Jajpur is my Devaki Maa, and Korei is my Yashoda Maa”, drawing an emotional parallel to his bond with both constituencies.

Reflecting on his recent political journey, Bobby said, “My return home was more important than winning or losing. My father’s moustache didn’t change, and neither did the people of Korei.” He added that service, not power, was his priority. “We don’t need power, we need blessings,” he said, emphasising that former CM and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik has given him the guidance to serve people with humility.

Reacting to this, Korei BJP MLA Akash Dasnayak said, “Actions speak louder than words. He (Bobby Das) should act more than just uttering in words. He had never thought of Korei Maa when he was at the helm (of power). Now, he thinks of Korei’s development after ousted from power. This is ridiculous.”

“Despite he using his clout, black money, and tactics, the people of Korei rejected him. They have made up their minds since the last General Elections. The residents of Korei are very self-respectful. They would not accept bondage life anymore,” the BJP MLA added.

In the 2024 elections, Bobby’s mother Sandhyarani Das contested from Korei on a BJD ticket but faced defeat. Since then, Bobby has been frequently seen at local events, fueling speculation about his active role in upcoming panchayat and 2029 General Elections.
