Union Agriculture minister to visit Odisha today

Bhubaneswar: Union Agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh will visit Odisha on Sunday.

During his visit to the state, the Union minister will participate in Akhi Muthi, the ceremony on Akshaya Trutiya day that marks the beginning of the agricultural season in Odisha, at the Central Rice Research Institute (CRRI)in Kandarpur.

According to sources, Union Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan will be present with Singh during the programme at CRRI.

During the programme, Singh is scheduled to discuss the plight of the farmers of the state, the sources added.

The duo is also scheduled to attend a farmers’ fair at CRRI.
