Sex racket: Special police team to nab kingpin Sunil Meher

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has formed a special team to nab Sunil Meher, the sex racket kingpin who had managed to give police a slip again during the raid on Wednesday from a flat in posh Chandrasekharpur area here where a sex worker of Kyrgyzstani national was rescued.

“Sunil Meher is a veteran criminal, who had been involved in immoral trafficking for a long time. There are many cases pending against him and he was also nabbed in the past. We are planning to arrest him as soon as possible. Bhubaneswar DCP has already informed the Ministry of External Affairs about the incident,” said police commissioner YB Khurania.

Besides, the Twin City Commissionerate Police is in touch with the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in this connection.

Meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police has served a notice to the apartment owner Swarup Mohanty to appear before Chandrasekharpur police station.
