Bhubaneswar: Though there is no specific terror threat during the ensuing Rath Yatra at Puri as stated by DGP Prakash Mishra few days back, the state police department is leaving no stone unturned to make this grand annual affair a successful one.
Addressing media here on Rath Yatra preparedness, IG (central range) RP Koche said adequate arrangements have been made to avoid any untoward incident.
“As many as 104 platoons of force, 1000 experienced police officers and 2000 home guards will be deployed on the Yatra day.”
Besides, two company RAF and SOG jawans would be in place to provide additional security to the event.
“Like every year, this time too anti terrorist and bomb disposal squads would be pressed into service,” the official said.
