Jagatsinghpur: In his second visit to Odisha in the last one month, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi today accused the BJD government of looting the state's resources.
Addressing an election rally in Jagatsinghpur, Gandhi quoted the Raghuram Rajan committee report saying that Odisha is rich in mineral resources, but the State is poor. Because the State failed to utilize the resources properly, he alleged.
This election will be held on two ideological thoughts. The Congress wants the poor people should get benefit from the State properties while BJD tries the development to reach a section of people only, Rahul Gandhi rued.
If Congress is voted to power, free healthcare would be ensured for all the poor people. All thatched houses would be made pucca, he said adding the Congress will work for the poor’s health, education and will struggle for their basic rights.
On the issue of employment, Rahul said “the BJD is talking about rojgar, but no one has got a job yet”. The economic corridor will ensure jobs to the educated youths, he told the gathering.
