Over 12 critical after bus collides with pickup van

Cuttack: More than 12 persons sustained severe injuries after a bus carrying pilgrims collided with a pickup van in Tangi in Cuttack district.

According to sources, a private bus coming from Kolkata to Puri hit a pickup van near a petrol pump in Tangi on NH-16.

Police with the help of locals rescued the victims. While some of them were admitted to Tangi hospital others have been shifted to Cuttack SCB.

The reason of the mishap is not clear even as eyewitnesses said the bus lost control and dashed against the van from behind which led to the accident. Police has begun a probe.
