Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has urged the Centre to take up the construction of the National Institute of New Energy and Innovation (NINEI) complex in Bhubaneswar at the earliest.

In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said the state government has allocated.73.680 acres of land free of cost in Bhubaneswar for the proposed NINEI, a national institute to be established by the ministry of New and Renewable Energy, as one of the several initiatives taken in accordance with the National Development Goals for Renewable Energy.

Informing that the state government is also committed to provide the necessary infrastructure support for this landmark project, Patnaik requested the Prime Minister to take necessary measures for early construction of the proposed institute in the capital city by allocating necessary funds to enable the institute to start its activities at the earliest.
