Bhubaneswar: Making the country proud, two athletes of Odisha Police have won gold medals in the ongoing World Police Games in Los Angeles.

Constable Bonita Lakra and Bighnaraj Miridia have won gold in individual and team events at the mega sporting event.

According to reports, Bonita, who was part of the Indian women’s team, has clinched gold medal in the 4 X 400 mts relay at the World Police Games.

Earlier, Bonita had won silver and bronze medals in 100 mts sprint and 100 mts hurdles.

Similarly, Bighnaraj Miridia has claimed gold in 400 mts event at the championship.

Both the sportsperson of Odisha police were earlier selected by the All India Police Sports Control Board to represent India in the World Police Games.

Following the success, wishes have started pouring in for the two sportspersons from across Odisha while many are demanding special felicitation and rewards for the athletes.
