Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today effected a massive reshuffle in the Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre.

According to a Home department notification, 2004 batch IPS Dr Deepak Kumar has been posted as AIG, State Police headquarters while 2008 batch Satyajit Naik and Sudha Singh have been appointed as SP, Special Task Force (STF) and SP, Vigilance respectively. However, 2007 batch Awinash Kumar will continue as Commandant of 5th Battalion of Odisha State Armed Police (OSAP).

Besides, the government also posted 12 IPS officers and five senior officers of Odisha Police Service (OPS) cadre as SPs of the following districts.

The 12 IPS officers who have been appointed as SPs are, Rajesh Uttam Rao: Keonjhar, Sanjeev Arora: Angul, Ashish Kumar Singh: Balangir, Pinak Mishra: Kandhamal, Kabita Jalan: DCP, Cuttack, K Vishal Singh: Nayagarh, R Prakash: Mayurbhanj, MS Sampat: Nuapada, Jugal Kishore K Banoth: Bargarh, SS Mishra: Nabarangpur, Nikhil Kumar Kanodia: Sundargarh and JN Pankaj: Jagatsinghpur.

The five OPS officers promoted to the rank of SPs and given postings in the following districts are Manoranjan Mohanty: Khurda, BK Panigrahi: Dhenkanal, Madhab Chandra Sahu: Cuttack (Rural), Dilip Kumar Das: Bhadrak and Sushil Panigrahi: Gajapati, the notification added.
