Bhubaneswar: Last day of the 14th Odisha Assembly on Thursday witnessed an unpleasant scene when members of Opposition Congress wearing black badges shouted slogans alleging the ruling party was trying to pass a government bill - Lokayukta Bill - on the Private Members' Day.

During the start of the Question Hour, Congress MLAs standing at their seats displayed banners demanding CBI probe into the mining scam besides sloganeering against the government.

Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh delivered a long speech targeting the government on various issues including atrocities on women, farmers’ death, deterorating law and order situation in the state.

Following the disruption, Speaker of the House adjourned the House till 11.30am.

Congress members later staged a dharna under the Mahatma Gandhi statue inside the Assembly premises.

When the Hosue reassembled, the Congress MLAs brought three privilege motions against CM Naveen Patnaik, Parliamentary Affairs minister Kalpatru Das, and Govt Chief whip Pravat Tripathy respectively.
