Bhubaneswar: Two days after being interrogated by the CBI, BJD's Mayurbhanj MP Ramachandra Hansda today appeared before the central probe agency again for questioning over his alleged involvement in Nabadigant capital services chit-fund scam.
Along with Hansda, two former MLAs- BJD's Subarna Naik and BJP's Hitesh Bagarti- Nabadigant CMD Anjan Baliyarsingh and two directors, Karttik Parida and Pradip Patnaik, were also quizzed.
The parliamentarian was questioned for at least two hours. After the interrogation, he told media that the company officials had persuaded him for joining.
"I have a bond of Rs 3 lakh in the company. The CMD and other top officials persuaded me to remain in the company", Ramachandra Hansda said.
Two former legislators also echoed same in front of media. “CMD Anjan Baliyarsingh persuaded me to join the firm. I have neither invested a single penny nor received anything from the company", Subarna Naik said.
Similarly, Bagarti alleged that his signature has been fabricated and used as director of the company.
CBI sources said, Mayurbhanj MP and two ex-MLAs were the founder members of the chit-fund organization. However, they resigned from the post in 2013.
The Nabadigant capital services limited was launched on August 12, 2011 and after being registered at Registrar of Companies in Cuttack.
The company started its operation from its Bhubaneswar office situated at IRC village. It mostly spread its business net in undivided Cuttack and Puri district.
It is alleged to have duped around 20,000 investors of crores of rupees under different financial schemes.
