Chilika MLA’s son hit by vehicle, robbed

Khurda: Chilika MLA Bibhuti Harichandan’s son Bibudh Harichandan was hit by a vehicle and was robbed of Rs 2.65 lakh on Sunday night.

As per reports, Bibudh was returning from his petrol station to his house at Nachuni on a motor bike late on Sunday night. He was carrying Rs 2.65 lakh in cash with him and was alone. While on his way, his motor bike was hit by a van and subsequently two miscreants tried to rob him of the money and even tried to kill him.

Fortunately, locals arrived at the spot and apprehended the miscreants and detained the vehicle. Police rushed to the spot and took both the miscreants to the police station where they have been detained. Moreover, the vehicle has also been seized by the police.

On the other hand, Bibudh, who sustained injuries and was in a critical condition in the attack, has been admitted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
