Berhampur police starts counselling of offenders

Berhampur: In a unique move to curb crime, the Berhampur police today initiated counselling of offenders at various police stations and outposts.

Persons involved in different cases were reportedly called out for a parade at the police stations and out posts in Berhampur where they were counselled to mend their ways. The process was carried out under supervision of Berhampur SP Pinak Mishra and ASP Trinath Patel.

"The counselling session will be held every week.  Strict action will be taken against those who, despite the sessions, refuse to  change their criminal mentality," Mishra said

"The session was targeted at those involved in various criminal activities and out on bail. We suggested them to stay aloof of such activities and make efforts to  join the mainstream," said Patel
