2 minor girls mowed down by truck in Balasore 

Balasore: In a tragic incident, two minor girl students were killed when a speeding truck ran over them after hitting a bike near Bhelora Chhak on NH-60 in Jaleswar on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Rupa Das (10) and Gouri Das (13) of Bhelora village.

Three persons, who were travelling on bike, sustained critical injuries in the accident and have been admitted to Basta Community Health Centre (CHC).  The injured persons have been identified as Santosh Patra and his two sons, Jiban and Milan.

Sources said the truck that from Balasore was on its way to West Bengal first when it hit the bike from behind and later rammed into the two girls who were returning home after their tuitions on bicycle.

Irate over the incident, locals staged a road blockade demanding compensation for families of the two deceased minor girls.
