The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued a ‘yellow warning’ for thunderstorm, lightning and squally surface wind for several parts of Odisha.
As per IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, light to moderate rain/ thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal in the next 24 hours.
On Tuesday, several parts of the State including twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar experienced heavy rainfall triggered by Nor’wester.

Yellow Warning( Be updated): Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and squally surface wind speed reaching 50- 60 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara Jajpur, Khordha and Puri. Thunderstorm with gusty surface wind reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Dhenkanal, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri.

Yellow Warning( Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Khordha,Puri, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal. Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Rayagada.
