A Cyclonic circulation has formed over South Andaman Sea and neighbourhood and extends upto mid tropospheric levels, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday.

As per IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, a low pressure area is likely to form over the same region under the influence of the cyclonic circulation system around May 6.

It is likely to become more marked during subsequent 24 hours, tweeted IMD’s Regional Centre.

IMD scientist, Umashankar Das said, "As of now, the path and intensity of probable cyclone is not clear. It will be known only after formation of low pressure area. There is forecast of Nor’wester for next 4-5 days. Coastal Odisha to experience thunderstorm with rainfall in next 24 hours."
