Under the influence of yesterday’s cyclonic circulation over the Southwest Bay of Bengal, a low-pressure area formed over the Southwest and adjoining West-central Bay of Bengal on Wednesday.

As per the IMD, it is very likely to move northeastwards and concentrate into a Depression over central parts of the Bay of Bengal by May 24. It is likely to move northeastwards, intensify further and reach the northeast & adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal by the 25th evening.

IMD informed that the maximum temperature (day temperature) is likely to rise by 2 to 3 degrees C during the next 3 days and no large change is expected thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 KMPH is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati. Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore.
