The Monsoon touched 24 out of 30 districts of Odisha leading to rainfall in several districts on Friday. 

The met department said that the weather conditions are favourable for the Monsoon to cover the rest six districts including Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Balasore, Sundargarh and Mayurbhanj. 

Meanwhile, the department predicted heavy rainfall to lash several districts of the state in the coming three days.  

“In the coming three days, there will be rain accompanied by thunderbolts and gusty wind with speeds reaching up to 30-40 kmph in the state,” said Manorama Mohanty, director of IMD’s regional centre in Bhubaneswar.

Day 1 (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 22.06.2024)  

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): 1) Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface windspeed reaching 30-40 kmph likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati.

2) Heavy to very heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Rayagada, Kandhamal and heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Gajapati, Khordha, Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Nayagarh and Ganjam. 

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 22.06.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 23.06.2024)

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): 1) Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface windspeed reaching 30-40 kmph likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh and Jharsuguda.

2) Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 23.06.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 24.06.2024)

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar.
