The Low Pressure area over north Andaman Sea and neighbourhood with the associated cyclonic circulation continues to persist. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and become well marked over eastcentral and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.
As per IMD, the system is likely to continue to move nearly westwards and reach westcentral and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal off south Andhra Pradesh- north Tamilnadu coasts on November 18, 2021.
“Based on today’s analysis, the possibility of further intensification of the system appears to be low, mainly owing to the enhanced likelihood of formation of another low pressure area over eastcentral Arabian Sea off south Maharashtra coast during the next 24 hours,” said IMD.
Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha for next five days:
Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 16.11.2021) Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the district of north Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of south Odisha.
Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 16.11.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 17.11.2021) Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur one or two places over the districts of south Odisha, north coastal Odisha, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 17.11.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 18.11.2021) Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati and Ganjam.
Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 18.11.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 19.11.2021) Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam and Puri.
Day-5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 19.11.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 20.11.2021) Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam and Puri.
