Monkey stranded on electric pole in Cuttack, rescued after 3 hours
In an unusual incident, a monkey remained stuck on an electric pole at Kalinga Square under Choudwar block in Cuttack district on Tuesday, for approximately three hours, leaving locals and passersby astonished.
As per reports, the monkey climbed up the pole and was unable to come down, prompting concerned citizens to alert the Electricity Department.
The Forest Department workers also arrived at the scene and attempted to rescue the monkey but were unsuccessful due to the risks involved. Following their failed efforts, Fire Department personnel intervened to carry out the rescue operation.
After nearly three hours of continuous effort and public attention, the monkey was finally rescued, drawing a large crowd of onlookers throughout the ordeal.
The unusual incident became the talk of the town as people gathered to witness the daring rescue act of the monkey that had captivated everyone’s attention.

"The monkey was jumping from tree to tree. However, he climbed the electric pole suddenly and didn't come down for more than three hours. Subsequently, a large crowd gathered to watch the unusual incident. Choudwar Police reached the spot and requested the people to vacate the spot. Subsequently, the fire service personnel tried their best to rescue the monkey. After three long hours, the monkey was eventually rescued. The animal is fully safe and secured now," said Chowdwar division forester Bhagaban Chandra Palei.
