Finally, relief from heatwave in sight; IMD’s latest forecast on Odisha districts

 After reeling from intense heat conditions, people in several parts of Odisha can expect relief as the India Meteological Department (IMD) on Friday issued heatwave alert for only two districts in the next 24 hours.

A yellow warning for two districts has been issued for Bargarh and Sonepur districts. It is pertinent to mention here that normal life, especially in western Odisha was adversely affected due to heatwave and humid conditions for the past couple of days.

Bolangir district recorded highest maximum temperature of 45.3 degrees yesterday.

Yellow warning (Be updated): Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sonepur.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 12.06.2022)

Yellow warning( be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 12.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 13.06.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Bolangir, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.
