Several parts of Odisha will experience heatwave conditions for the next 48 hours. Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain and thunderstorm activities, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday.

As per IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, the heatwave conditions will prevail in parts of Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Nuapada districts over next 24 hours.

“There will be no large change in the maximum temperature (day temperature) at many places over the districts of Odisha during next two days and a slight fall by about two degree C at a few places over the districts of interior Odisha thereafter,” said IMD.

Yellow warning (be updated): Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Nuapada.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 10.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 11.06.2022)

Yellow warning ( be updated): Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Boudh.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 12.06.2022)

Yellow warning ( be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 12.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 13.06.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Bargarh, Gajapati, Ganjam, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul.

Day-5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 13.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 14.06.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Khurda, Nayagarh, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.
