Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam preparation is considered very tough, but in the midst of these difficulties, there are many talented people who make their marks. One of them is IPS officer Pooja Yadav.

Hailing from Haryana, Pooja Yadav is an MTech degree holder and was working abroad before quitting it to become an IPS officer.

Her journey is truly inspirational as she overcame many hurdles in her way to serve the motherland.

Pooja did her schooling in Haryana. After which, she did her M.Tech in Biotechnology and Food Technology. She then worked in Canada and Germany for a few years.

Pooja's family was not very financially well-off and due to this, she had to face many problems. So, it was a big decision for her to leave her job and prepare for UPSC.

However, her family supported the decision and was with her throughout her journey.

Pooja wanted to serve the nation for which she left her high-paying job and started preparing for UPSC. But she failed in her first attempt. Without getting disheartened, she continued and achieved success in her second attempt, and got appointed as an IPS of the 2018 cadre.

“After working in Canada and Germany for a few years, Pooja Yadav realized that instead of contributing to the development of India, she was working for the development of another country. After this, she left the job and decided to give UPSC exam, ” stated a UPSC pathshala report.

Pooja Yadav believes, “Preparing for the UPSC exam can be a long and tedious process. You may feel disappointed at times, but there is no need to worry. You need to give time to your hobbies along with your preparation, by this you will be able to keep your mind fresh and your output will be much better.”

"Society can demotivate you at times, but you should not let your attention wander. Once you clear the exam, there is no discrimination and everyone is treated equally,” said Pooja to all the women UPSC aspirants.
