A viral video of a fish appearing to be without a head swimming in water has left the internet in shock. The jaw-dropping video has gone insanely viral on Twitter after being shared online and left Twitterati intrigued.

The video starts with a fish with no head, just the tail, swimming around in a muddy water body. An onlooker recorded the video and posted it on Twitter leaving the internet stunned. Although the clip was originally shared a few years ago, it has once again gone viral now.

It is not clear if someone had decapitated the fish and left it in the water or if it had lost its head after being eaten by some bigger reptile in the water.

Sharing the video, the Twitter user wrote, “Fish swimming with no head (with a shock emoji).”

Since being shared online, the video has garnered 1.4M views with 5618 likes and 349 retweets. Twitterati filled the comment section with a plethora of reactions.

A curious user asked, “What kind of fish is this that can survive without its head?”

Another user explained, “Fish are able to swim for a short period of time after they have been decapitated because their swimming is controlled by their spinal cord, which is located near the tail. The spinal cord is responsible for coordinating the movements of the fish’s muscles, including those used in swimming.”

“Are zombies for real?” commented a third user.
