A family's wedding celebrations in Bihar's Sitamahari turned into mourning when the groom died of a heart attack during the jaimala ceremony.

According to Times of India report, the heart-wrenching incident took place in Indarwa village. The deceased groom has been identified as Surendra Kumar (22), a native of Manikthar village.

Sources said that, on the wedding day, Surendra with his baraat arrived with pomp and gaiety at the bride's home. The bride and groom also performed the jaimala ceremony where they both exchanged garlands. After which DJ began playing loud music and the baraatis and bride side began dancing to the tune of the latest numbers.

However, soon this merriment turned to mourning as right after the jaimala ceremony, Surendra suddenly collapsed on stage. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

According to the TOI report, witnesses said the high-frequency sounds of the DJ troubled the groom, who repeatedly asked for either turning down the volume or at least keeping the DJ away, but none listened to his requests.

"We saw him collapsing on the stage. He was instantly rushed to a local hospital but the doctors declared him brought dead," a local villager Ramnandan Rai was quoted saying to local media.
