It’s marriage season in India and all sorts of crazy and funny incidents are coming to the fore. In one such bizarre incident reported from Uttar Pradesh, a bride ran away with jewellery while on her way to her in-laws' home after the marriage.

According to a Live Hindustan report, the groom Manoj a resident of Agadia village in Mainpuri district had befriended Pooja, of Pidwal village in Mau district, through Facebook. After they began a conversation on Facebook, their friendship turned into love and they decided to tie the knot.

Their wedding was fixed on March 3 (Friday). Manoj along with his family members arrived on a fixed date for the marriage. The wedding rituals were completed in a temple. The groom's side had given jewellery and clothes in the marriage to the bride.

After the vidai ceremony, Manoj and the bride headed to his home. However, on their way, Pooja’s brother came and stopped their vehicle on the way near Dak Bungalow in Jiyanpur town of Azamgarh district. He asked Pooja to come with him for some work.

Following this, the bride went away with her brother, while the groom waited for her in his car. But both did not return even after a long time, worried that something might have happened to them, the groom's family tried to call the bride. However, they couldn’t reach her as her phone was switched off.

Later, the groom's family realised that they were cheated as the bride had fled with all the jewellery and gifts.

Meanwhile, the groom's sister filed a complaint at Jiyanpur Police station against the bride and her family. The Police have registered a case of cheating and are searching for the accused bride and her allies.
