Two underage girls rescued, traffickers nabbed

Sambalpur: Six traffickers allegedly engaged in duping two sisters of Kuruguda village under Kisinda block were nabbed on Sunday at the railway station here.

According to reports, these traffickers, taking these girls to Madhya Pradesh on the plea of marriage prospects were actually planning to handover them to the pimps.

Since last three days, these traffickers had been camping in the Kuruguda village. Acting on the tip-off, GRP police swung into action and rescued the underaged girls and nabbed all the six traffickers who were on board MP-bound Hirakud Express.

Police also arrested the key accused Champa Pradhan and Shesadev Pradhan from the town. 

According to locals, there were similar instances of girls trafficking in this area before.
