In a scary turn of events on September 14, resident doctors at the postgraduate (PG) hostel on the premises of MBS and JK Lone Hospital in Kota’s Nayapura area faced a nightmare scenario. A venomous black cobra had slithered into the hostel, sending panic waves among the young doctors who rushed out of their rooms in fear.

Snake Emerges from Toilet

Swift Rescue Operation

Snake catcher Govind Sharma was immediately called to the scene. With considerable effort, Sharma managed to capture the cobra safely. The reptile was later released into the Ladpura forest, away from human habitation. The forest department confirmed the successful rescue and emphasized the importance of alertness in areas prone to snake sightings, especially during monsoon months.

Eyewitness Account

Resident doctor Mudit Sharma recounted the frightening moment. “I went to use the toilet in the morning and saw the snake sitting there with its hood spread. I immediately informed others,” he said, describing the horror of finding a cobra inside his hostel room.

What began as an ordinary night at the doctors’ hostel turned into a nerve-racking encounter with one of India’s most feared reptiles. Thanks to the quick response of the snake catcher, tragedy was averted. The incident serves as a reminder that urban spaces too can face wildlife intrusions and being alert can save lives.
