New Delhi: Two persons were arrested for allegedly cheating several youths to the tune of lakhs of rupees by promising them jobs in multi-national companies, police said today. Lalit Kumar (59) and Amarjeet Rana (60) were arrested yesterday for running a racket wherein several educated unemployed youths were cheated by them on the pretext of providing them jobs.

The duo had allegedly earned more than Rs 10 lakh from gullible youths by charging them Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 for getting the job. The action came on a complaint filed by one Manoj Kumar of Sarita Vihar that Kumar and Rana had cheated them by falsely promising them to provide MNC jobs.

They were arrested from Karol Bagh Metro station, police said, adding that the duo had spent two years in Tihar jail after being convicted in a cheating case. They were released on bail recently. The duo turned to duping as they desired to live a lavish lifestyle, police said.
