Real estate costs in major cities of India are as high as the skyscrapers there. Exorbitant house/flat rents have become a matter of serious concern in most of the cities, including Mumbai, Bhubaneswar, Benglauru, Delhi and Hyderabad.

Recently, a software engineer based in Bengaluru shared how he was paying a whopping Rs 80,000 for house rent. Yes, you read that right! The whopping price is the monthly salary of most government employees and most state government employees do not even earn half of it.

Well, lucky that the Bengaluru man is getting huge salary, owing to which he is able to afford Rs 80K as house rent. The 26-year-old revealed that he lives in a gated community in Binnipete, which is 15 minutes away from his office and has all places of convenience near him.

Sharing his story, he wrote, “The 80k rent in @peakbengaluru is so worth it at times 🌈 I respect my time more than money. When I moved from Noida to Bengaluru, I had made up my mind that I would cut the daily commute time as possible since in my previous job I had to travel from Noida to Delhi.”

He added, “Okay folks, not every area in the city has a water problem, electricity problem. To add to it some areas actually have a very functional metro. And if you live in such a area close to the city center, the rents are meant to be high. Bangalore is beyond the techbro localities :)”

However, the outrageously high rent left social media users speechless who highlighted that he could have ‘better’ options with the rent he is paying now.

“I would rather spend that 80K roaming the world every month than sitting in a cocoon of a house with that wonky view,” commented a user.

Another user commented, “80K? Down payment karke ghar le lijiye EMI isse kam padegi.”

“Saved 80k rent for watching the Rainbow by working in a corporate with good office view 😜,” shared another user.
