Resentment among people seems to be brewing after varied content hurting Hindu sentiments being continuously made and released on various OTT platforms. On Thursday, 'Boycott Netflix' was trended on 'X' after a section of netizens accused the streaming site as a platform which is continuously promoting anti-Hindu content.

Notably, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan’s son Junaid is making his Bollywood debut with ‘Maharaj’. But the movie has landed in controversy as fans claim the film shows Hindu religious leaders and sadhus in a negative light. 'Boycott Maharaj' is also trending on X.

Earlier also, Netflix had to withdraw Nayanthara-starrer Annapoorani following protests by right-wing groups claiming that the film hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community, especially Brahmins.

On 'X' user Anubhav Saxena wrote, "Trending hashtags like #BoycottNetflix are ineffective. It's time to hit the streets and protest. Demand that the government de-platform streaming sites like @NETFLIXINDIA, which consistently promote anti-Hindu content. Why was religion introduced into a film made on food a few months ago? And now the insult to Hindu saints, how long will this continue? Ban Maharaj Film."

Another user wrote, "...Netflix has a penchant for degrading hindu beliefs whether it is shooting kissing scenes inside temples, lampoon deities in ludo, create a hinduphobic series where a swami wants to nuke the world. Its enough now ! Now #BoycottNetflix & Uninstall @netflix app."

The Jaipur Dialogues wrote, "Netflix is back with Anti-Hindu Content. Amir Khan launches his son by throwing dirt on Sanatan Dharma. The Film shows Hindu Sadhus as miscreant and lustful. Will Amir Khan make such movie on Islam and Maulana? It's time Hindus Boycott @NetflixIndia #BoycottNetflix."

"Father Aamir Khan mocked Hindus in PK now his son Junaid khan is doing a Netflix show mocking Hindus. These Khans are Hinduphobic and always showing their hatred towards Hindus. #BoycottNetflix," wrote one user.

However, no comments could be obtained from the concerned Netflix officials on the allegations being levelled by people online. The story will be updated once Netflix comes up with an official statement in this regard.
